Soft Watch At Moment of First Explosion, c.1954 Finest LAMINATED Print Salvador Dali 39x28
Title: Soft Watch At Moment of First Explosion, c.1954. Artist: Salvador Dali. Image Size: 29.28in. x 22.83in. Paper Size: 39.25in. x 27.50in. Finest LAMINATED Print
The process of creating a laminate is lamination, which in common parlance refers to the placing of something between layers of plastic and applying heat or cold and/or pressure, usually with an adhesive. Proper laminating can prevent fading from sunlight or other bright lights, destructive Ultra-Violet rays, fingerprints and smudging from simple handling, pollutants, and even the vapors from smoke, cleaning solutions, and other harmful atmospheric elements. If you truly care about a piece of artwork, and choose not to frame it, the only real way to ensure its safety is to laminate the image.

After all, when a beautiful woman enters an assembly, even
the most composed cannot remain without being drawn towards

“One does not become attached to these two when one realises
the pure chaitanya Brahma – which transcends Prakruti-Purush –
as the only satya; & when one realises that Brahma to be one’s
own self; and when one becomes brahmarup and worships Shri
Krishna Bhagwan, who is Parabrahma; and when one realises
Prakruti and all of the entities which have evolved from it – all of
which are below that Brahma – as being asatya, perishable and
worthless; and when one views all mayik names and forms as
flawed and develops intense vairagya towards all those names
and forms. Only under these conditions do gold & women not
bind a person; otherwise, they most certainly do cause bondage.”

“Consider the following analogy of a goldsmith’s workshop:
If a person takes some pure, 24-carat gold to a goldsmith’s work-
-shop, but takes his eyes off of it for even a moment, the gold-
-smith will extract some of the gold and alloy some silver in its
place. Similarly, consider the goldsmith’s workshop to be the
heart and the goldsmith to be maya. While the goldsmith is
sitting within his workshop – the heart – he is continuously
hammering away with his hammer of desires. Even his wife &
children secretly steal some gold if they can get their hands
on it. Consider the indriyas and antahkaran to be the wife &
children of maya – the goldsmith; after all, it is they who add
silver – i.e., the three gunas, attachment to the panchvishays,
the belief that one is the body and that one has lust, anger,
avarice, etc. – into the chaitanya, i.e., the gold. Not only that,
but they also extract some gold in the form of the virtues of
gnan, vairagya, etc.
“When some gold is extracted and silver is mixed in its place,
the original gold diminishes in purity to become 18-carat gold.
Only if it is melted down can it be purified again. Thus, the
silver of rajogun, tamogun, etc., which has been mixed into
the jiva should be filtered out. Thereafter, the pure atma –
the gold – will remain, and no other impurities of maya will

“..Intense love for the Satpurush is the only means to realising

IMG 0897-1 - Homemade spanakopita
I had a mission to use up a package of phyllo and I love spanakopita so I made up my own version at home. I'll definetly do this again... so good.... easy too! You simply need a package of fresh baby spinach (better than the frozen moosh), minced onion and garlic to taste, a dash of any other herbs you favor, such as oregano, a block of feta, and box of phyllo.
Start with a drizzle of olive oil in the pan... saute minced onion/garlic/herbs until brown (a touch of flour is optional to get there). Add spinach and stir until the leaves are cooked. This usually takes only a few minutes on low heat. (You can pre mince or chop the spinach if you like but it really won't matter once it cooks.)
Mince or chop the feta into crumbles (if it didn't come pre-crumbled). Mix it in a bowl with the warm spinach & herb mixture to form a cheesy, herby paste.
Next break out the pre-thawed phyllo dough. (Phyllo is usually frozen and has to thaw. Often this is done in the fridge overnight but go by the instructions on the package.) When handling the thawed phyllo unroll it and put a damp (not wet) tea towel overtop of the portion not being used, as otherwise it dries out quickly!
Melt 1 or 2 tablespoons of butter in a microwave safe cup or dish. Use a spoon or brush to daub it on the pastry as you go.
Put a couple heaping tablespoons of the filling in one corner of the dough and begin to fold, brushing a bit of butter between the layers and over the top after you are done. Note - some roll their spanakopita into one long cigar-like tube, then make the tube into a spiral shape. That works too! And fits conveniently within a round pie dish if you want to call it spinach pie.
Cooks at about 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes depending on the oven - just check frequently until the triangles are gold...

These two ice melting blocks look similar, but are composed of different materials. One block feels cold to the touch while the other block feels slightly warm. At room temperature they have very different thermal conductivities. After allowing students to hold the blocks, ask them which block would melt ice more quickly. Place an ice cube on each block and watch their amazement as the "cold" block melts the ice cube within 3-4 minutes. The melting of the ice cube is barely noticeable on the "warm" block. The "cold" block is aluminum and has a much greater ability to transfer heat to the ice cube or the hand, while the "warm" block is plastic, which does not conduct heat well. Physics & Chemistry Concepts: * Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics * Temperature & Heat * Conduction The demonstration takes about 5 minutes to perform.
